Grabbers
A grabber is a set of hardware resources that are activated at a given time, and that have the purpose of grabbing frames out of a camera, and storing the digitized version of that frame into the frame buffer.
The basic constituting resources of the grabbers are:
- The video lanes
- The digitizing units
- The timing units
In general, there are enough resources inside a board to enable the simultaneous activation of more that one grabber.
If one grabber is enabled, the board is said to operate in a MonoCam configuration.
If two grabbers are simultaneously enabled, the board is said to operate in a DuoCam configuration.
If three grabbers are simultaneously enabled, the board is said to operate in a TrioCam configuration.
