Compression
Picolo Diligent acquires images both in compressed and uncompressed formats. Both acquisitions can be simultaneous and in full D1 format.
The board is equipped with 4 independent hardware compression chips. These dedicated chips offer MPEG-4 Simple Profile at level 3 with B picture support (MPEG-4 SP@L3) compression.
The following 2 codecs are supported:
- MP4S: Microsoft MPEG-4 codec.
- DX50: DivX codec version 5.0.
MultiCam Parameters
- The ColorFormat parameter can be set to DX50 or MP4S for compression acquisition or to any other possible value for uncompressed acquisition by a channel.
- For compressed acquisition, the CompressionType parameter can be set to DX50 or MP4S according to the ColorFormat parameter setting. It is set to NONE for uncompressed acquisition.
- For compressed acquisitions:
- The BitRateControl parameter can be set to CBR or VBR.
- If the BitRateControl parameter is set to CBR, the AverageBitRateControl parameter can be set in the range 0 to 6000000.
- If the BitRateControl parameter is set to VBR, the VideoQuality parameter can be set in the range 0 to 100.
- If the CompressionType parameter is set to DX50, the GopStructure parameter can be set to IONLY, IPONLY or IPB.
- If the CompressionType parameter is set to MP4S, the GopStructure parameter can be set to IONLY or IPONLY.
- The GopSize parameter can be chosen according to the GopStructure parameter.
- The WIS_DeinterlaceMode can be set to INTERPOLATION or BLENDING.
