Versatile System Inputs - TRA...TRD

There are four versatile digital non isolated input ports in both external and internal system connectors. The ports are named TRA, TRB, TRC, and TRD.

Versatile System Inputs

The port is extremely versatile and accepts both differential and single-ended signaling methods. Following port configurations are available:

Each port exposes three pins named respectively TRx+, TRx-, and GND; with x = {A, B, C, D}.

A differential-ended signal is applied across TRx+ and TRx- pins; the "warm wire" of the transmission line transporting the signal TRx has to be connected to the TRx+ pin while the "cold wire" of the transmission line has to be connected to the corresponding TRx- pin. The transmission line is terminated by a 120 Ohms resistor.

A single-ended signal is applied across TRx+ and GND pins; the "warm wire" of the transmission line transporting the signal TRx has to be connected to the TRx+ pin while the "cold wire" of the transmission line has to be connected to any GND pin of the system connectors.

The port provides an automatic port configuration mode. When AUTO mode is enabled, the port determines whether a single-ended or a differential-ended signal is driving the port. When a single-ended signal is detected, the port is configured automatically as single-ended LVTTL/TTL and when a differential-ended signal is detected, the port is configured automatically as differential-ended LVDS.

When other port configurations are required, you need to configure the port manually.
