Professional Outputs
Characteristics
The board professional outputs are solid-state relay outputs
- The solid-state design means that the outputs are faster and more reliable than mechanical relays.
- The relay design implies closed and open states, polarity insensitivity, isolation with ground and with other outputs and a defined state at power off.
- This design also leads to easy integration in industrial environment with the ability of the outputs to driver long lines and without the requirement for external power.
Equivalent Schematics
In the open or high-impedance state, the professional output equivalent schematic is as follows:

In the closed or low-impedance state, the professional output equivalent schematic is as follows:

Use and Wiring
Contact-Closure Input
A professional output can be connected straight to a contact-closure input, such as a relay input or an opto-coupler input.
MultiCam Parameters
- OutputConfig must be set to SOFT.
- OutputState must be set to LOW (closed) or HIGH (open).
Check the relay or opto-coupler voltage and current ratings with the professional output electrical characteristics before connection.
The 2 pins of the output are equivalent and can be swapped.
TTL Input with Internal Pull-Up Resistor
A professional output can be connected straight to a TTL input with an internal pull-up resistor.
MultiCam Parameters
- OutputConfig must be set to SOFT.
- OutputState must be set to LOW (closed) to generate a logical 0 at the input or HIGH (open) to generate a logical 1.
The 2 pins of the output are equivalent and can be swapped.
TTL Input with Internal Pull-Down Resistor
A professional output can be connected straight to a TTL input with an internal pull-down resistor.
MultiCam Parameters
- OutputConfig must be set to SOFT.
- OutputState must be set to LOW (closed) to generate a logical 1at the input or HIGH (open) to generate a logical 0.
The 2 pins of the output are equivalent and can be swapped.
