Ports-to-Taps Assignments
The following list describes the rules governing the assignment of ports-to-camera taps.
For taps having 8-bit pixel depth
- A camera tap requires one 8-bit port
- Single tap cameras use Port A
- Dual tap cameras use Ports A and B
For taps having pixel depths of 10 bits and 12 bits
- A camera tap requires one and a half 8-bit port: The port B is split into two 4-bit half-ports: BL and BH
- For taps having 10 bits, only the two least significant bits of these half ports are used for pixel depth of 10-bit
- Single tap cameras use Ports A+BL
- Dual tap cameras use Ports A+BL, and C+BH
For taps having pixel depths of 14 bits and 16 bits:
- Single tap cameras use Ports A+B
- This bit depth is available only in Base configuration for single -tap cameras
For taps having pixel depth of 24 bits
- This pixel bit depth is exclusively used for RGB color cameras
- A camera tap requires three 8-bit ports
- Single tap cameras use Ports A+B+C; A for RED; B for GREEN, C for BLUE components and Ports D+E+F; D for RED; E for GREEN, F for BLUE components. This tap configuration is an Euresys proprietary add-on to the standard.
