This parameter is expressed in nanoseconds (10-9 s). The value can be positive or negative.

The horizontal reference instant corresponds to the leading edge of the horizontal synchronization pulse embedded in the analog video signal.

This parameter is applicable to analog area-scan camera able to receive the horizontal and vertical synchronization from the frame grabber. This is sometimes referred to as genlocking the camera.

The delay is a positive number when the video composite synchronization occurs after the applied horizontal drive pulse.
